Still Wondering







I still wonder what happened.

Why our friendship had to end?

But I never get an answer

for each prayer that my heart sends.



I remember how we started.

I thought it was a dream come true.

Had I known then what would be

I would rather had not come to know you.



Even though it has been years now

you still stand out in my heart and mind.

I must learn to face the facts

and leave the memories behind.



But it is not easy without closure.

I just want to say good-bye.

That I cannot even do this

makes me scream out to the heavens “Why!”



I will always love you as I hate you

for your entering my life,

for touching me in special ways

while stabbing me with a knife.
