The third part of the journey
The aged sit idle
looking back knowing what’s ahead.
The unknown rests under every perch
waiting for the fall.
To let go or hold on?
There is no purpose in the end, yet
we must continue to move towards it.
Time is irrelevant,
it can cease when least expected
or linger on the suffering.
Lately the journey has become more about
what’s left, instead of the excitement of
what may come.
Although we are all at the mercy of
what will be.
I hope I have the strength
to endure what is to come,
to thrive to fill each day, to have
purpose and enjoy each small blessing.
