The thunder roars and the rains come
My fears unreasonable to some
Nevermind them
It's all for him
One whose lost his reason to rum
The door slams open and he's here
Wild eyes seeing only his beer
He grabs it near
And drains it clear
His anger rising at no more beer
He took a step as fists he raised
With rage he moved as eyes they glazed
He did not see
That it was me
The one he said he always praised
Where was his love he said he had
Drink had caused it to go bad
And the raised fist
Gone in a mist
The world around me has gone mad
The rain has stopped and the storm clears
They had made fun of all my fears
But he sees red
As I lay dead
At last gone from this veil of tears
