My creative side shows up when I am in need,
a need to be elsewhere, anywhere but here.
It’s been dormant and allowed me to get things done,
It’s recently risen to run wild with ideas to ease
a worried mind, to have fun.
Addictive, possessive, Obsessive
it will take full control. At the moment I have
two voices battling for ownership, which will stay?
One is based in reality and other likes to drift away.
I would like to meld the two together, balance
is underrated. I need both but they don’t get along.
When one takes over there is no room for tagalongs
Eat, sleep, rest, play and work will all take a backseat,
For the drive to generate has great need. It will not rest
until it wears me out, for this I know will happen
I don’t have any doubt.

I hear ya though. I think most if not all of us "creative types" in any form of art, writing, painting, etc. have two voices/sides to us always in battle. Sometimes I think I may have far more! j/k
