On Touching A Star
I touched a star when I was empty
and my star, it touched me too
until that fateful night it disappeared,
my star, it fell from view.
I hold a piece within my heart and soul
that I cannot let go.
I touched a star and it touched me
now seems so long ago.
My star became too heavy.
Perhaps my embrace too much to bear
and thus my star was made to fall
crying in despair.
My star no longer shines.
This night sky I never knew.
If only we had never touched
but then,
I would never have touched you.

Sometimes you lose a star only to gain another, better star.

Michael, this reminded me of St. Exupery in its spiritual beauty and awe. Love the impressionist feeling here that sings of love in all its celestial meaning. Your dance of words was like watching a ballet in the heart of night where magic comes.

So sweet, I like the ending I have used it before. It is powerful. I hope you find your star again Mike.

Ty all. This is a poem I wrote about my "hard to know what is going on half the time friend Ej" Having a hard time letting go. I don't know what to do or think half the time. Hard to turn off emotions/feelings when you care about someone even if you feel lost most the time.

You're not alone, we all have struggles like this. Believe me when you turn off you become numb and that's not any better than having painful feelings. It's the balance that is hardest to find, not knowing where that lies is difficult.
