She meets the baseball commissioner in his office requesting he let her sell tofu hot dogs in Yankee Stadium. Her sales pitch is that these dogs are made from American soybeans and are marked U.S.A. He says, “Give me a bite of that.” Pretty soon he devours the whole soy dog.
“My you do have an appetite. What do you say you get them fresh off the grill?”
“It is a deal.”
“Just don’t eat too many. For goodness sakes you could get heartburn.”
“You are talking to the man who won the hot dog eating contest at the state fair.”
“Even champs like you get that feeling like you swallowed a torch. Go easy my friend.”
“One piece of advice, instead of ‘soy dogs,’ call them ‘hot dogs.’ No one will know the difference.”
“That is so dishonest.”
“They are hot dogs made of soy. You aren’t lying. Semantics.”
“God you know how to take the pressure off a girl’s conscience.”
