The Bloodsucker! Prose - not poetry.

There I was all alone. Sitting at the computer when the dreaded mosquito whine started. I first heard it by my left ear and tried to flick it away. Silence. Then back that dreadful whine came, tensing my body with dread. I tried to see where it was, but at first could not locate it. And then, there it was, right in front of my eyes, mocking me with its whine. I tried it grab it, but it laughed its whine as it easily eluded my grasp. Time and time again, I tried to grasp it or slap at it, slapping myself instead. Desperation was setting in. Panic, even. And then an enlightening thought occurred to me. But would it work? One could but try. Slowly I rose from my chair, listening for its mocking whine. There, there it was. I took a few steps toward the sliding door, and waitied again to hear if it followed. Upon hearing it again, I took a few more steps, and continued in this fashion until I reached the sliding door. I stood to make sure I could hear if the dreadful creature was still there. Then slowly I raised my hand and slid the door open. Slowly I stepped out onto the deck, waiting. There, I heard it. It had followed me out. I quickly moved back into the loft, slamming the door shut. But did it follow me back in? I took my seat at the computer and waited. Nothing. Good, my plan had worked and the blood sucking creature was locked outside. He will have to look for a meal elsewhere.
