Wedding Plans
King Minos and the traveling jug band Convene in a motel court Where I am granted an audience With the bride of Sun Ra Her beau born on Saturn’s rings But she ponders the nuptial hour apace As his flutist from Titan Who seeks bridal grass For barefoot beatitude I spice her heart with an Indian Mound marriage Where native souls can seep through soles Brings her a Great Spirit smile But her idea sprouts into silicon Of computer age Wedding With AI pastor To bring cyber reality to the fore My repartee: “Marriage isn’t a computer sacrament” “How silly of me” she laughs like a wood nymph Whose Syrinx blown by lips of fire Smolders into ancient embers
