Sad news to report We have just learned that our beloved Co-Admin, Rick/AKA/ Lost in Eternity has stage 4 cancer and is currently in hospice. He doesn’t have much time. This is a message to me from his Niece, Harlie. None of us knew about this. It was a total shock. He’s had a cough for a couple of years and was losing his eyesight in the months before we knew. He couldn’t breathe well and couldn’t walk well either, so I made him go to the ER. He was there for 3 weeks in October before they knew he had cancer. They still don’t know where the cancer originated, only that it has spread to his lungs and collapsed one. He doesn’t have much time. I’m so sorry to have to be the one to tell you all this. Rick is a very sweet, artistic, beautiful soul. I’m glad he has such good friends who love him. I will be sure to tell him you wish him well and love and miss him. December 5 is Rick's Birthday. His birthday celebration was just posted in the Castle if you wish to say Happy Birthday. Click Here

Oh, my gosh. I just read this after posting on his birthday thread.
I am so sorry to read this. I used to read and comment on his poetry at another site. And also posted with him at the site, Constant Comment. Such a really nice guy.

He's a wonderful, guy, Kerri, and a highly talented poet. He is also a wonderful friend.
I left a notice for friends at one of his old groups, Poetic Constellations. Friends should know these things.

This is really sad news, Rick is such a lovely person and always made time for my silly queries. I also enjoyed spending time with him in the fun and games forum. I had wondered where he was and I am really devastated to find out he has been battling cancer. Sending all my love and prayers to you Rick.

Kerri, we are hoping that if somehow he can visit the castle, his birthday thread would serve as a reminder of how much he is loved by us Castle Dwellers.

I am hoping that his niece, Harlie, will stop in and see it, and at least tell him about it. I would be thrilled if he could come in and see it for himself. I really want him to know how much he is loved. I want Harlie to know as well.

Foxie, I have told Harlie and Shannon how much he is loved. I found out there were two other huge losses in their family in the last year, including their mom. I am sure they are probably shocked so much can happen in their family. If only can be said a million times, but you know Rick never wanted to see a doctor. Rick knows about the thread. He has no computer access and now with covid he cannot have visitors.
(PS Am I doing something wrong? An icon with good news shows up at the end of my posts and I am not putting it there.)

I wish there was some way to let Rick know how much his kindness in words and his poetry have meant and contributed over the years, to me and to all of us. I hope for his sake and ours that this terrible news turns around. I salute you, my poetry brother!!

I also wish there was a way to make a connection with him, Dan. He is someone very special to a lot of us. Wish we could just make it go away.

I, too, wish to make all this go away. I was hopeful for a while, and a little bit of that hope remains.

Cat, where there is life, there is hope. We must never give up on hope. If I could talk to Rick, I'd say Keep Fighting!! People have survived cancer and people have survived COVID-19. Miracles still happen.

Foxy,
Shannon is trying to get him transferred to her home. If she does and there is a computer with a big enough font he might be able to read the thread. He does know about it and that there are lovely messages to him. His eyes are very bad now. He does not know that Shannon is trying to get him to her house, bc she doesn't want him to be disappointed.
He is in a hospice state, so no IV which is sad bc he lost 60 lbs. He will not take chemo and is only drinking liquids.
Maybe if he goes to Shannon's he can leave a voice mail here. I used to do something called vocaroo- I am not computer savvy, but people have done voice mails to me. I know he will not give up and still thinks he is Superman.

That's great, because I would never, ever think of Rick as a quitter and I know he would be here if he could. I hope Shannon can get hm to her house. It is good to be cared for by someone who loves you. Nothing could compare to the touch of someone you love. My heart just aches for him. I am glad he knows and understands that we know what is happening to him, and we are all pulling for him. There is a lot of love for him, here is our Castle, and he will always be a part of us.

So heartbroken to hear this. I want to write a few thoughts to him.
(((Rick))), you are one of the Dearest Souls on this planet friend, your Poems capture many an imagination, it has always been a treat to read you over the years, you shine with a brilliance all your own. We go way back at Poetic Constellations, & I was also glad to see you at the Castle. I thank you Rick for always being a sincere & embracing support to me, & to so many other writers through the years, so much time you gave unselfishly. I want you to know you Always Lifted my Spirit, even though you might not have realized it.
I think of you now in my minds eye...Soaring among the Stars...happily "Lost In Eternity".. a Smile upon your face. You are the Real Deal my Friend, & I Thank You for Touching my life.
Love & Prayers... J. (Sky)
