Hey there baby, maybe you're just too stupid to understand
that I'll always love ya crazy
and that I wanna hold your hand.
Hey there baby, here we go, I probably ought to just let go
but I ask my heart this question,
the damn thing keeps sayin', "No!"
Half the time I don't know what to do.
Why can't love be an easy way?
Instead we're left to struggle through
in all the games that Cupid likes to play.
Maybe this or maybe that,
maybe maybe never was
or maybe maybe's answer from the start
was maybe not or just because.
Hey there baby, maybe I'm just too stupid to understand
that I'll never hold ya close to me,
that's the way that it's been planned.
Hey there baby, here we go, won't you step back into time
or am I not allowed to retrospect?
Instead I'm left to be a mime.
Half the time I'm livin' in the past.
I'm in the days I had with you.
The rest I'm in reality
wonderin' what I'm gonna do.
Maybe here or maybe there,
maybe our time couldn't last
but baby maybe we made love,
it had to stay within the past.

Hey there baby...reminisce. A sad poem of what once was but with hope for the future.

It's not surprising to me how often the past mocks the present. Especially when it refuses to let go. Minor touches of bitterness will surface, willed or not. There is a reality to this gives a wince of empathetic pain behind the eyes.

Michael, I love the playful lingo you use here. It gives your poem a realistic and fun tone. It reads like someone really talking to his lost love. Authentic. You really can make your dialogue fascinating.

Brought to mind, my teenage sweetheart. We dated at the skating rinks on Saturday night. Long after I left and moved to another high school in another town my grandma sent me a newspaper clipping about her wedding. It took me a long time to fall out of love with her.

I'm here...back I should say....i've had difficulties with the surgery, have had to go back for additional work i guess for lack of better word, surgeries i guess, minor stuff. I've been taking care of me while healing. I figured i would just come back here when I knew i would really be back for good instead of popping in and out frequently like i was. I'm good now. Still having some problems with the post nasal drip though which, i knew the surgery wouldn't take care of that completely so i am looking at getting back on allergy shots since i do have a TON of allergies too. Was doing them when we were in Vegas but stopped and went with the surgery route instead. Well, maybe i need the shots too? i don't know but we will find out. I am definitely better since the surgery so it did help having it done though like i said i had to go back for additional work a few times there. Maybe now the shots will help more? maybe..hopefully. Course with all this going on that's going on now with Corona Virus I can't get into the allergist's until sometime in May tentatively they told me. I had an appointment tomorrow, (today as you're reading this) but with all this going on it got moved into the future Joy O well, what can ya do? So i'm just healing up still. I guess when ya get cut up as I have been it takes a while to heal. They told me healing would be going on for quite a while so I'm trying to be patient. Love u all HUGS
