Behind dark the clouds the moon's face hides, Ghouls and goblins wandering free, Her youngest one she softly chides, Like her eldest he can't yet be,
That time of year has come again, Behind dark clouds the moon's face hides, Dark shadows move 'tween trees and glen, With belying grace each one slides,
In groups they whisper sly asides, Her youngest dares to face the night, Behind dark clouds the moon's face hides, Clearing the way for ancient wights,
A child's cry cuts through the dark, As they come at him from all sides, Too late he makes flame from a spark, Behind dark clouds the moon's face hides.

Thank you very much Foxy, Michael, Rick, Cat and Sky. It is getting closer Michael, time flies by too fast these days! Sky, yes, that is one of my paintings. I called it Mid Autumn. Thank you for noticing it

Thank you Dan.
Thank you Foxy. It does carry meaning for me as do all my paintings. Where painting is concerned I feel like an overdue butterfly emerging from the cocoon.

Brian your poem had a ghostly beauty that was haunting in its mood. Enjoyed much, my friend.
