Have you seen the sky at night?
Without the city's glow?
Where every star that shines so bright,
Is where love spirits go,
When the great lady finally passed,
Wearing her cloak of grey,
The ancient forest she saw last,
Welcomed her to stay,
What she had gained had been lost,
Like autumn leaves she faded,
A ghost upon the season's frost,
Her destiny she'd traded,
Have you seen the sky at night?
Without the city's glow?
Where every star that shines so bright,
Is where love spirits go,
For years uncounted she remained,
Though all she'd known was gone,
Choices she had made still pained,
Dimming her every dawn,
She'd become a gentle wraith,
That none could ever see,
Her gentle heart had lost its faith,
Alone she'd always be,
Have you seen the sky at night?
Without the city's glow?
Where every star that shines so bright,
Is where love spirits go,
In his tomb the king still lay,
He was untouched by time,
His soul came awake one day,
Beginning a long climb,
Looking upon the forest floor,
He gave a silent cry,
A sight that chilled him to the core,
It was her lifeless eye,
Have you seen the sky at night?
Without the city's glow?
Where every star that shines so bright,
Is where love spirits go,
Using his will he called a breeze,
Hoping he would discover,
Her lying there between the trees,
Beneath the leafy cover,
At last he found what he sought,
Just as the sky grew dark,
He felt himself getting taut,
While searching for some spark,
Have you seen the sky at night?
Without the city's glow?
Where every star that shines so bright,
Is where love spirits go,
Though nearly spent she heard his call,
But when she tried to rise,
Back to the earth she did fall,
She did not hear his cries,
In anger he cursed those above,
As he refused to quit her,
She'd always been his greatest love,
Defeat would be too bitter,
Have you seen the sky at night?
Without the city's glow?
Where every star that shines so bright,
Is where love spirits go,
His fury let him hold his ground,
Her love rose as his shield,
Those above quickly found,
They would have to yield,
Again he rose to become light,
His lady by his side,
Their reunion was their right,
Love could not be denied,
Have you seen the sky at night?
Without the city's glow?
Where every star that shines so bright,
Is where love spirits go.
