Every year there are at least 12 Festivals celebrated in the mountains Add to that one or two more
as there are different religion practiced here. And they last a minimum 3 days at a time,
and sometimes more. We even have a day for celebration with
our dogs, cows and crows. We have just finished 10 days of celebration
of Dassain - a celebration of good overcoming evil.
There will be celebration of Lights soon -
the mountains lit up with flickering oil lamps. Celebrations bring out the best in people
they are stress busters.

Dip, I just know I would love your celebration of lights. I love lights, candles, lamps, flashlights....just lights, no matter what kind. I'll keep a light burning for you.

What a glorious sight and sounds your festivals must give. They are so important to a culture. They are what makes it survive.

Dan & Phoenix, Festival of Lights is truly a breathtaking event. The clear autumn sky, the touch of cold breeze coming over the snow peaks standing tall under millions and millions of stars and the clay lamps flickering in the breeze - a sight to behold.
- The darkness fades , the light takes over. Namaste. - Dip
