happy thanksgiving

the parkas are coming



it's getting colder



ok, maybe not that cold



but at least a hoodie



or two will do







the pumpkins



are coming,



it will soon be shell



out time, trick or treat



come out little goblins



and witches, but don't



be mean







the sunflowers



are full and ready



for picking



sunflower butter



is just a great treat



if you don't like the



peanut kind







and oh so many things



you can do with it otherwise



a state flower a flower (kansas)



of a whole country (ukranine)







make a pumpkin pie



make something



from squash, soup



yes, but please



don't let it drip,



it's not good that way



make it thick where it



sticks on the spoon



oh it's making my head



swoon







leaves are falling



and changing colour



the nights are coming



sooner, now they last



longer then the day



a sad time perhaps



but it comes and it goes



just like the changing



of the tides, where we



think we'd like to hide







harvest what you can



from the land



and share it with a feast



a tasty treat, come one



come all



and have thanksgiving with me
