A Page From April~
Shiny patent leather shoes to tap-tap up and down church steps, a little-girl-dream for Easter feet which didn't come true, but my child smiled down at hers and happily chased the Easter bunny into Spring while a yellow dress competed with the sun, and the sheen of soft brown hair twirled round early morning, as eyes lit to the fresh awakening of all things. Oh, how I miss my Mothers voice, the smells of Sunday dinner, her favorite shades of purple adorning eggs, and my fingers, then saving all my black jelly-beans just for her. How I miss That Easter Sunrise.. the kind that makes you want to jump inside its rays, the kind that makes you feel Warm..complete, when all's right with the world even though you know it's not, the kind that shines upon new patent leather shoes, and scuffed ones too. ©Augustsky

Beautiful. I love those kind of memories from childhood. One of mine in particular is roasting chestnuts on the fire at Christmas. Almost no one does anymore. Sadly, you can never go "home" again. It's the people who are the magic, you see.
