Sold Out
I don’t need a Tardis To go back in time While asleep in my dreams My mind took me to London Back in the 1800s When Dickens was in the papers To a bookshop run by a lady With lips curled in disgust But the books on my list can’t wait “Lady Chatterley’s Lover?” She guides me to the bookshelf Where D.H. Lawrence should be “Perhaps Venus of Furs my favorite Domme novel?” “Sir your literary tastes are popular. Hence they are sold out.” My cellular phone to the future Comes in handy when empty-handed As the bookstore mistress ushers me out For not being interested in her decent collection

This was a fun write for me, also based on a dream. Love your woman sleeping and dreaming image. Indeed dreams can take you anywhere. There is a saying by Poe, "Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."

Yes!! One of my favorites. I love the works of Poe. He had a style all his own.

When I was a kid in New Orleans, I had one of those old LPs of a man reading stories by Poe. Telltale Heart was my favorite. I really should read, "The Fall of the House of Usher." I've read a bit of it and it was intriguing. XoXoXo John

He was an original Gothic dreamer and writer. I haven't read a lot of him but what i have left me starry-eyed. One day I hope to read him again. He is a kindred spirit for me.
