Where There is Smoke...
The scenes look like a fire-breathing minister went to confront the rattlesnakes in the desert brush, Probably with a can of gasoline.
Paradise is totally in ashes, Just gone like the title of an old book, Malibu is completely evacuated under smoke clouds the size of Texas thunderstorms.
It's on a biblical scale alright.
Ninety thousand acres here, Three hundred thousand acres there, Top off with people fleeing walls of flame doing eighty.

This is absolutely devastating to me, Dan. I see these horrid flames raging out of control onTV and I pray. Oh, how I pray....for rain, blessed life saving rain....to crush the flames and allow the earth to begin to heal. I am so sorry and wish I could do more.

The pragmatic reality is that long-term, California must adopt building codes that mandate fireproof building construction. In the short term a lot of people are going to need help. Thank you, QF. I feel sorry for my Northern and Western neighbors here in CA. The entire town of Paradise burned to the ground. 27,000 people lived there. My God. Dan

I have seen photos and videos of the horrific damage in California, so many houses vaporized ... terrible.

And even sadder is the loss of 31 lives that I know of right now and I fear that the death toll will continue to rise.

Dan, you write this scene with the authenticity of a writer who faces this terror without flinching. Truly a tragic poem of grand proportions.
