A Welcome Visitor - Dream
Before dawn reveals the Goddess’ face I awaken to the sound of the vacuum cleaner like an unaccountable effect from mornings when she breathed the sweet air of earth And so with giddy joy I find her spirit made flesh but she cries like a newborn babe until I gather her in my arms with her black crushed velvet hair of a purple Vegas sunset sheen
I ask her where the afterlife took her “First I went to the palace of the great beyond” And she projects the image in my mind the edifice spans a mountain valley with windows lit like a honeycomb in the Galactic night She says, “The queen gave me a placemat”
“Don’t let me loose by myself in the car” she says because her vaporous form might let slip the steering wheel Though not licensed to drive and invisible to people other than me the illusion of talking to myself lends itself well to our laughter when giggles chase away the tears

John, sounds like a wonderful dream. To paraphrase another man named John, the only thing we take is the love that we make.

Dan, I am wonderfully happy that you read and enjoyed my poetic recounting of this dream. Indeed it seems my dream life is filled with people who have passed returning to visit me here on earth. This is the most vivid and deeply felt dream I've had about my former wife since she died. Glad you enjoyed my friend.

Your sad and wistful yearning for your lost love is powerful, John, and very beautiful. It is a lovely connection to the other side.

Gracias mi amiga. Indeed she hasn't died but is still here just in a different form. Thank you for the beautiful rose and the inspiring words. Your art is heartening.

Michael, much gratitude my friend. I too believe she was there in person. It seems all of my loved ones who have passed have visited me in this way. It was a warm hug. I look forward to seeing her again.
