The Magical Land of Fairies
Once...long ago....there lived many fairies who roamed a magical land. This is what they called it, "The Magical Land of Fairies." I met one once a long, long time ago. I saw a fairie all by herself. She was playing a flute and dancing to and fro. Now.... on to my fairie story. This magical land was unlike any other magical place. The fairies all went there to learn about magic. They learned how to fly and cast fairie magic.
One time, the old Fairie Queen decided she would eliminate all the beautiful fairies, as she was jealous of them. So jealous was she that her wings would shrivel up. She was a mean fairie, indeed, but still she smiled as if she were not angry or jealous of them. The older fairies knew that she was jealous of the pretty dancing fairies, as she could no longer dance like they did, due to old age. She was well over 200 years old and fairies live a long time but once they mature, they do not sing and play the flute as well.
Well, the old Fairie Queen, saw the fairie children dancing and told them to follow her. She thought this would cause havoc on the mothers of the children. They followed her to another part of the land of wooded area and the old Fairie Queen told them if they should return, they would vanish into thin air. Poof! Like magic....and they would be gone. The children were so frightened that they would disappear into nothing, they they did as the Fairie Queen told them to do.
When the old Queen returned, the older fairies asked, "Where are the children?" The Queen replied, "How in mother fairie's sake would I know that!" They exclaimed, some of them did, "But you are our Fairie Queen, you should know!" But the Fairie Queen said again, "How would I know, after all, I can not account for the whereabouts of everyone's children." She smiled wickedly and some of the fairies knew she was lying.
One day, one of the older fairie mothers decided to hunt for the fairie children, so she searched and searched until she found an old cave. She heard music and laughter. She went inside and found the fairie children and asked what they were doing there. One replied, "Why...the old Fairie Queen told us to stay here and never to return or we would vanish into thin air!"
"What nonsense!" the older fairie mother ssaid. One of the children asked her, "So, we will not vanish or disappear like the Fairie Queen told us we would do?"
"No..of course not children. Now come along with me, we are going back to the magical land of dreams." They followed her as they felt she was no harm to them at all. They now knew the Fairie Queen that lied to them to be a mean and wicked old fairie.
They were back in no time and the older fairie spoke aloud. "Here are the children, I found them in a cave, the Queen of Fairies deceived them and said to never come back or they would vanish into thin air!" This she said, as she pointed a finger at the Queen.
The queen gasped, pretending it was not true. "No, that isn't so.That's a lie!"
But the children said, "Yes it is true, she made us go to the wooded area far, far away and stay in a cave. We had no place else to go but we still were singing and playing our flutes anyway!"
The elders of the group said, "The Queen must be banished from our sight!" The queen fled as they ran her off and then one of the high-fairys said. "We now Have a new Fairie Queen, Ambrosia, who found our children!" She was delighted to take the queens place. She was humble and proud to be the Queen of the Fairies. And they all lived happily ever after.
