Yesterday or was it longer? good-bye was heard, Then came the solid slam of the door, Standing in silence while darkness gathered, All that could be found, Where unshed tears of the heart,
Reverberations of mocking echoes from the walls, Only the sounds of harsh breathing, For a battle had begun from thought to feeling, Insipid creeping of nerves stilled yet jangling,
For there were unshed tears of the heart, Passions of a different kind raging as a storm, Gale forces to tear asunder willed self control, As somehow yesterday became today, A battlefield where all raged, nothing remained, Except for unshed tears of the heart.

There is a quiet elegance in your sad poem, Brian ... an early dark gem.

There is a quiet elegance in your sad poem, Brian ... an early dark gem. Thank you Rick. It was a different time in a different place. Sometimes though, old memories linger.

So much sadness and so so many broken hearts around this beautiful world. I wish happiness for all.
