Mi Sueño de Amor
Tortillas hot from the oven Served steamy with Oaxacan tamales Wrapped in banana leaves We sit like brother and sister Yet us former lovers In the cradle of a taqueria Where the only noise is Spanish
My litany of love spoken “Just take an early cancer test. If you get good results Then the naturopathy is working. But if not comply with your doctor And take your meds.”
The field workers gather around our table And echo my sentiments word for word Like a Greek Chorus She agrees to my idea Over enchiladas Dipped in green chili sauce

A quiet setting that forbids a disruption to its pieces falling easily into place.
Perhaps a petition offered and accepted in such a dream, is naught but a dream, yet what a blessing should it be prove to be a waking one.
A gentle moving write John.

Thank you phoenix. Yes if only this dream could be made real. But upon awakening the reality is there. Thank you for your warm and compassionate comment. It means so much to me.

The food sounds wonderful, the conversation frightening and heart-wrenching. As always, John, you reach the heart of the matter in the midst of a rich and vivid environment created with your words.

Thanks so much, Dan. Sadly this dream is based in the reality of my ex-wife's struggle with cancer. She has given up on modern medicine and put her trust in natural healing. I appreciate very much your reading and understanding where I'm coming from my friend.

Sad, yet beautiful words John. My heart aches for you and for all those who love her. I lost my soulmate to the monster called cancer. By all means, she should try anything that she has faith in, but she should not give up on traditional meds. May God bless her and keep her safe.

I have lost more than one person I love to various forms of cancer, and a close call with another. It's no easy feat to sit on either side of that dinner table. God bless you both.

Thank you so much Foxy. I pray every day that her belief in modern meds will not be diminished by her faith in natural healing. Both have their place but sadly she has given up on western medicine.
Much gratitude Dan. She is right, I believe, that modern meds may not cure her illness. But I believe they might buy her time, and time on this earth is precious, time to spend with her children and grandchildren. She has been hoodwinked by the naturopaths in my opinion.
Thanks so much, Rick. I appreciate your reading very much my friend.
