an old man's lament
watching reruns on TV that's how boring life can be has life has taken me to a new low or at my age do I just move slow I worked hard for most of my life now I won't deal with anger and strife the days of up early and off to work being gone is a retirement perk now if I can find a way to end this rant I'll go shower and dress if I can find my pants

Don, what a humorous and wise poem. To retire after a life of hard work is most deserved. Love your fun reflection on retirement. Truly a gem!

Wherever it came from it made me smile. Love poems which do that. John

I enjoyed reading your life reflections, Don; especially the humorous final thought.

My second read of this piece made me laugh at the end. Your sense of humor as reflected in your poetry is wonderful. Gifted poets can make the reader share their amusement as you did for me here.

I hope I'll ever be able to retire so I can truly relate to this poem, Don, but I get a sense of it through your words.
