Nothing changes, I'm still as scatty as ever! Hi Foxy and everyone, I used to post on your yuku board as GoldenGem but got hit with several health problems most of which are behind me now. It was quite some time ago in fact I think it was before my heart attack which was just over 10 years ago. It was a lovely surprise receiving your email Foxy because the only board I post on (occasionally) is Facebook and as I am now retired and at a loose end this was like an answer to a prayer.  I've seen a few names I recognise which is always nice so if you've no objection I've rejoined using my FB name of VickyAnneG - except they don't seem to do capital letters on Proboard. I look forward to getting to know you all again. |

Thank you Joannie and I am a dog lover too. In fact we had three last time on posted in yuku but we lost them through old age and one from cancer and it was like losing human relatives. So as we are both registered with differing health problems we decided against replacing them but oh my how I miss them. |

Walking back Vicky. It is so good to see you again I am sorry to hear about your beloved dogs. I have lost beloved cats over these past years so understand your loss. I, too, decided not to place them, but after 3 years from my last one, I just adopted two little black kittens from the Humane Society. I decided beforehand to get a black cat because people tend to look unkindly upon them thinking they are bad luck. I was looking for a loving personality and ended up adopting two very loving kittens (sister and brother). They just happened to have turned 4 months old the day I adopted them so I gave them a new home for their 4-month old birthday:)  |

I had this posted on a different thread and was afraid you might not find it. If you like using images, this is important info.
Inserting images into your posts
Vicky, I don't know how UP you are on things that have been changing on the net, but most of us have had to leave PhotoBucket for our photo hosting. They raised tthe price so high to be able to post images from their site that most of us refused to pay the $400.00 a year they expected us to pay.
If you have a lot of images stored on PhotoBucket that you still want to use, public.fotki.com will migrate them to their Fotki site for you at no charge. There is a small annual charge to storee and post your pictures on their site. They are a good site with great customer service.
I also like imageshack.us/ They are a very good image hosting site but their customer service is almolst non existent. Even so, I like them best. At the moment, I have both.
There is another one I like that is free but the the max storage amount is small. I have an account there that I maintain for members whefre I keep little emogies for chat. It is imageupload.co.uk/ Feel free to use the litte images I store there. Just don't give the address to anyone else. We don't want non members using up our bandwidth. Welcome back, m'lady.

Oh that's really kind of you Foxy. I will definitely use the site you recommended first - I opened the Photobucket account yesterday because I was unable to post any images from my images stored on my PC - I don't know why. I am well behind on images and I only post a few on FB and most of the good ones I had were lost when yuku were sold. I was going to open a paid site with PB but like you was shocked at the price, there is no way as a pensioner now that I could afford that so your suggestions are very helpful indeed and I thank you for them. I have opened a FOTKI account but haven't worked out how to use it yet. LOL I do have all my images on my PC in the "my pictures" folder but as yet I can't seem to upload them using the button they give you on here. I only went to Photobucket because I remembered being able to do so in the past. Of course back then it wasn't so horrendously priced. I also couldn't see any way of moving images from my Photobucket account to FOTKI but then I always was a bit thick. I've no doubt that in time I will work it all out one way or another. |

Vicky, before Foxy told me that Fotki will move your photos from Photo Bucket to Fotki for you, I copied all my images from Photo Bucket to my computer files. I made new folders in Fotki. Once the folder was made I selected blocks of images and then with both my computer files open in a small box, and Fotki opened in full computer screen, I used my arrow to carry over the blocks into the new Fotki file which was open. This worked great for me, but it took a lot of time. So if you can get Fotki to do it for you, then do it.
On the left side of the Fotki files, there is a menu of what you can do such as copy files to other files, or move them. You can also delete from that menu, or simply push the delete button under your image. If you are going to use the menu though, click on the box under the image which is beside the image name to select the image. I find you can select many images as long as they are on the same folder page. If I go to the next folder page without editing them, the selections will not be selected anymore.
To post your image here, you can either click on the image in the menu which will open up a menu box and you can select Copy Image Address. In your reply box, select the icon that is 7th from the right end. It will open up and you can paste the image address on the top line. Then insert image.
If your image has any special effects to it (ie movement or sparkles, etc), I advise that you first click on the image in Fotki to open it up and then follow the above steps. I always do this first because if you just do it from the thumbnail images shown when you first open up the file, you will be able to post the picture but any special effects will not be there.

Mlorning Vicky. You found your way here and the rest will be easy. In order to get all your images from PhotoBucket, youj need to contact Fotki and ask them to migrate your images from PB to Fotki. They will do this for you. Go here: myaccount.fotki.com/customer_service/new_inquiry/I also make lots of sig tags for my Castle Dwellers. I opned a thread for you yesterday in Special Delivery forum with your first sigs in it. Click on Our Fantasty Castle on above right > scroll down and click on Special Delivery. Again, thanks Cat - I really do appreciate your help. One final thing. On the old board, many years ago, Foxy had a list of urls for graphics which could be uploaded - is that list on here anywhere? I had a cursory look but didn't see it. I will try not to bother you again. Just spotted Foxy's post. Thanks Foxy I have asked them to move my PB files across and you can close these posts if you wish as I am gradually getting to know my way around the board. |

All except one forum is open to all members. It is a "Moderators Forum", which is private and open only to staff members. It should tell you that you do not have permission to access that forum. There is a "Members Button" on the top navigation bar. It takes you to the list of members. |

Oh Thrills!! That makes me very happy, Vicky. Here in the Castle, we really love posting our images, so they are of great importance to us all. We are lost without good image storage service. I have a feeling you are the same way. It is nice to be able to post from your computer, but you do not get full size and quality and eventually, when all of tha Castle's storage space is used up, I have to delete some of those images so more can be posted.
