Our Yuku Castle is no more. It has been migrated to Tapatalk. It is very plain and ugly. I checked a few things to see if it all arrived intact. The poem collaborated by Rick, Brian and I, called The Castle Ghost, was mutilated in transt. It arrived with only two verses intact. The other ones were just a jumbled mess of HTML Code. Rick, I looked at your poetry forum. I did see where you had deleted some Photobucket images. Just at a glance, it looked pretty good. It looks like most images (not PB) made the trip in good condition. This, of course, is based on a very quick look. Look out PC and Aerie. It probably won't be long now. |

Most Aerie has been deleted already  The current test version is locked and only one account has access. It's not even being kept for archival purposes, the site will be shuttered when I've gotten what I want off it. I'm already drawing historical data from the old site and the test one. I'm not even trying to fix the mess at crapasquawk |

Hi Foxy! I saw that when I got on Chrome. I still have Yuku Castle as tab 1, and it came up Tapatalk.  I need to update my Chrome tabs. Photobucket is still tab 2, and I'm not paying the ransom. I can use my hard drive for my tags on Proboards Castle. |

Thanks Cat. I'm glad we got out, too. It can serve us now as a back up group at times when we can't get in here at proboards. At least it has all of our threads, writing and history there. There are still things there that I want to have here. I will eventually get everything I want over to this site. Good that you got everything completed, Brian. It is good to have it done. I don't have to go back there everyday anymore. James, just keep the URL for Tapatalk Castle in your favorites. We will use it for backup for the rare occasuions when we cannot get into ProBoards Castle. As far as images go, it is nice to be able to post from our conputers. You could also start an account at the same Photo Hosting site where I uploaded emoticons for us to use. It is free, user friendly and easy to post from. Have a great day, guys. It is very nice here, weatherwise.

You know, Cat, I have a feeling that Aimoo is very short lived as a host for social groups. Their customer service is even worse than Yuku. I considered moving there before I moved the Castle to ProBoards. I told them again about a broken feature that I had reported much earlier. One that was very useful to me. Never heard back from them, even though they knew I was considering moving a well established group to that site. Now I see this announcement at the top of every Aimoo group: A new Administrator has joined Aimoo to replace Alice. Please be patient while Luise learns her new job. And I believe, with Yuku groups gone, Aimoo is the last of it's kind. I don't believe it will be around for long. Of course, that is just my opinion. On a brighter side, I came across a new graphics sitr today. Some images are fantastic. Some are mediocre. There are 77,729 Public Domain images, meaning that all of them are copyright free. i didn't like aimoo, i so couldn't get in, it, at all
and one board that someone went to, zeta, i tried to get into that, and no dice, i think i posted once, there and that was all, the owner says that she'll look into it, but i have a feeling that it's a lost cause

Still trying to keep up with what is happening at Our Castle and the Tapatalk network. I do not see any signs of things settling down there and problems being worked out. It is sad to see it all like it is now. Here is something I just read on the new Support board:

The problem is of course that the previous, acceptable, setting from the preceding forum platform was changed by TT as it ported over our forums. That necessitated us scrabbling around to find where an entirely new set of controls and check boxes were located, and to work out what settings would cure our problem, if a cure existed. That learning curve, given that admins had a wealth of other aspects to learn about and resolve also, together with a plethora of design and layout changes over which we had no control of any sort, has required much wasted time trying to fix something, often unfixable due to design changes. Furthermore, searching through ‘support’ topics - dozens and dozens of them - were entirely hit or miss as to whether a satisfactory, workable, acceptable solution was eventually found.
Sadly some of these fixes required an element of coding (CSS or something) that is entirely alien to many of us, and was why we selected a pre-prepared forum provider in the first place!

In my humble opinion, it is a nigtmare for admins. I am forever grateful for the customer service at ProBoardsI don't think Tapatalk will ever equal it.  |

I will definitely keep the Tapatalk Castle in my favorites. I just won't have it my Chrome autoload. When I change my Chrome autoloads, I am going to put our new Castle in the number 1 tab. I would definitely be interested in your new images storage site.

They finally moved Aerie. Looks like two 747s collided with a pair freight trains only worse.
Just a few more things to pull from it. Regrettably they're large threads.
After that the site there is being closed.

Hi Queenie Foxy! I've been in such a dilema about what to do about losing my Yuku message board to Tapatalk, and I really like Proboards...It runs so smoothly and is feature rich. It's probably user friendly as well on the management side. So, I had a Freeforums backup board at first, and THEN Tapatalk bought them out!!!! Unreal...There's nowhere it seems you can go to escape these guys...As I understand it, part of the Tapatalk company also owns Proboards...(I'm not sure how that works). I notice on your URL that it has a free forums address.) It's so confusing who owns who.. But unless a person knows CSS code, Tapatalk gives the new board own virtually ZERO design tools...It's really unbelievable. Like having to design a website from scratch. So, I was really getting nervous, not knowing what to do, but then this Austrailian lady by the Avatar name of Pepe LP, offered to design my new skin and she did an incredible job....Still, I wish it had the features such as smileys, that this board had, but at least, it is a workable replacement. I didn't want to lose our history, so it almost didn't seem to be an option to leave and start a new place with Proboards...I was between a rock and a hard place but Pepe LP bailed me out... Although, this is just the skin that is going on the new board when they migrate us over, here's what our new board will look like. This is just the Tapatalk backup board....It's not the Cadillac that Proboards is, but it's workable...Since Proboards and this company Tapatalk seem to be affiliated, I don't know why they just can't give us the features Proboards has, but they're weird that way..
