Blue Moon
Under the blue moon she stands.
My eyes watch her every movement
entranced with awe.
She is like a goddess under the moon.
Slowly dancing,
illuminated by the moonlight softly washing
over her body in cleansing, in restoring her spirit.
I watch, in love, as she tilts her head back,
eyes closed, embracing the energy Luna sends her way.
O her soft, gentle smile!
She is in stellar meditation.
Below, waves pound in fury
against the dark, unforgiving rocks
as she turns in her trance towards the storm!
In prayer, hoping to be free.
Free of me.
I watch in shock and in horror
as she turns one last time
then leaps off of the cliff
to the icy water far, far below!
She is free.
Glancing up at the moon
I watch as clouds drift
over its face.

Oh Michael, that is so beautiful....and yet, so very sad. Filled with emotion that is felt to the core of my being.

Started off like a beautiful love poem, but oh, what a tragic ending! Totally unexpected - but then that is you Michael, always the true meaning of the poem in the last words. As Foxy said, so sad.

Michael, this is like a flare of sunlight in a quartz crystal that gets very bright and in a flash is over. I can certainly understand how you correlated these feelings with the end of a romance. I could feel it all. This is real and powerful. Loved the art here whose finesse is brought home as your gift does.

This developed as an assignment for a poem based on the color blue in a creative writing course I took when I was in college and it grew from there Glad you enjoyed John, as always your replies to my work are stellar my friend.
