Cavalcade
they came one after another waiting in line to get up the stairs to the rooms where women stood by doorways the cavalcade of men marched up and down the staircase until they found a woman that appealed to them then they haggled a fee disappeared behind a locked door for a few minutes when they returned they wore a crooked grin walked out of Imex Hauf and went home to their wives

Don, this is one of the saddest poems I've read here yet very true to life. If only these women could see the alternatives and our society had the heart to help them along the way.

This is/was real life. Imex Hauf was located in Munich Circa 1965/66. It was government sanctioned/monitored and the women were tested for STD's every two weeks.
