the warriors' plight
age matters not nor the war warriors never stop fighting them the very real fight is burying the horror of combat deep in the recesses of the mind some fighters can never forget they weep in their sleep they grieve for comrades lost they suffer lack of compassion when they go home and hope peace will come as taps are sounded each night

Thank you, Cat. PTSD is hard to live with. I praise God that I never had to face an enemy in mortal combat.

Don, the emotional depth here is a real revelation of what old warriors go through. Indeed you are fortunate not to have faced the enemy in mortal combat.

I know people who have been there and done that, and I know they are never again the same. They can never erase the memories they live with. It is sad.

Thank you all so much. Although I never was in combat every time we went on an alert drill both in 'Nam and in my two cold war tours in Germany it would take days to return to normal. I hope you can imagine the fear we faced that the Russians were coming across the Fulda Gap in mass.

I'm sure of that, Don. I know it must have been horrible.
