Japanese Artiste
Japanese waves painted on rice paper That holds the ocean sway For kimono-clad court ladies With Zen garden eyes Who play the Koto for the rising sun Enthroned by the eastern sea Whose golden petals unfold In gentle tears from heaven That gather like Shinto monks at a shrine Where silent vespers whisper in the heart For holy candles to light the way To a forest of love

Took me a while to articulate this poem. Very glad my friend that you enjoyed this poem on the spirituality of Japanese nature aesthetics. I much appreciate your tag, my friend.

Thank you so much, Michael. My father had a subscription to National Geographic and had entire walls of them in our house. So I read them as a child.

Interesting take, John. Geisha train for love and to please the male.

Quite true Don. I have explored the Geisha concept both through poetry and prose. Once I wrote of a married couple in America who played the role as a means to spice up their bedroom life.
