Maiden's legacy stands alone, Flowers cover it white as snow, It recently became full grown, To honour her its blossoms show,
Sandy shoreline was mixed with rock, Water spirits were filled with woe, Maiden gifted a seedling stock, To honour her its blossoms show,
Her name is still called by the sea, Beauty who walked there long ago, She planted there a cherry tree, To honour her its blossoms show,
Maiden's legacy stands alone, To honour her its blossoms show.

Brian this is so deeply felt and elegant. It read like a Byronesque poem from the romantic age of Britain.
