So long ago the great war of the skies, Saw southern quartet challenged to battle, Impressive it was the four winged ones' rise, Their flocks would not be branded like cattle, Some evil black hole enslavers had come, Not expecting to meet much resistance, But the bird's leaders were ready to scrum, To protect their free living existence, The Phoenix, The Crane, Peacock and Toucan*, Gave no ground in defense of their border, The intruders wound up on a buccan**, Thus they failed intended disorder, Today in the south they still brightly shine, Together those starry feathered friends fine.
* constellations also known as Phoenix, Grus, Pavo, Tucana, the four birds of the south

Your use of language here is inventive and amazing. And your knowledge of the southern constellations made for a truly literary poem. Fine work my friend. Bravisimo.

Thank you Foxy.
Thank you John. I love the constellations and PC was always a great place to write stories about them.,
