Path of Awakening
Sparks from a Jovian juniper Are fireflies too hot to touch When the forest if full of stars On our tortoise trek in umber Where we walk embers Like Polynesians on live coals But only the clovers to cushion our trail Wet with tears born of a wood nymph Whose sorrow is our path Out of the toll of the bells Into our own kind of grief When a cup of mourning is enough To fill the empty spaces

It's our life events that truly shape who we are. So much of our perspective comes from them. Loss seems to bring out the worst and best in people. Yours channels into beautiful heartfelt poetry that quietly breathes across the heart.

Love your perspective on life and my poem my friend. Indeed, our past is always there as part of us. Glad to know my history channels into heartfelt poetry. These days my writing is about the heart and I strive to make it that way. Thank you so much.
