Canyon in Contrast
Lodge pole pines Lead us in ascension On mountain steeple Into Cathedral sacristy Where ice in April Finds sanctuary in cave On a cupola of love When years were tea in a cup of tears Whose leaves were clouds that dreamed In alpine golden age For the ice blown tabernacle Found where sly roots dig deep To where heaven lies fallow
Second day under electric tower Leading up barren rock terrace To a smiling Buddha with his llama On our way to where the agave grows happily Switchbacks on the face of time

Thanks so much, Foxy. My wife and I camped in a Canyon above Taos, N.M. The first day we climbed one side which was verdant and found a cave with ice. The second day we climbed the other side which was barren and rocky where we met the man with the llama. Glad you enjoyed my friend.

Thanks Foxy. She and I had our castle in the air for a long time.
