I've done a pretty good job of Hibernating this winter Holed up in my concrete cave Locking the world out Just me and my memories Or lack of them Lots of time To wallow in whys Chase fears with tears Sink into sadness
I took off the Rose colored glasses A long time ago My eyes have adjusted To the starkness of gray The pain seems to hurt less In that shade not as taxing As sorting through all the colors Soon clocks everywhere Will be springing ahead
Before long mother nature Will awaken with vigor and vim Life will bud anew in all its glorious beauty That which has lain dead and dormant Will flourish once again No looking back at what was Or what could of been The secret is to find The reality of what is And what can be
It's been a long winter the journey Through heart and soul has been Agonizing but sometimes you Have to brave the heartache To get to the healing I for one am ready To come out of Hibernation To live a new beginning Color My World

Peep! (HUGGERS!!) You are always there with a kind word for me as well as others on here! Know we're here for you too! You always perk me up... Let's both head out the door together to better days ahead!

Hi Alana, Your ending gave me happy chills! A fantastic poem this is ... going through the long hard winter with sad thoughts of the past and then, like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, you are ready to embrace life and its wonderful possibilities again. *five fresh color stars* (((huggs))) Ricky

Absolutely love this, Alana. We all ride the wheel, the cycle of life, the seasons. I have always adored Spring and Summer, yet Autumn and Winter have their own beauty, joys, and wisdoms.
