Walpi
Bruja voice of a thousand tears Takes us to the sky born wheel Where pueblo wonders through centuries Upon flower mesa that blossoms love For children of dusty walls Whose cast iron dreams Are a coal stove in a pottery room With a lady of ancient designs Whose smile is the murmuring sun That glimmers through a veil of sand When her ceramic children With motifs as sacred as the land Are too strange for homes of barren wood
Walpi is a Hopi Pueblo atop a mesa. This poem was inspired by a lady who sold her pottery there. She had a wistful smile almost as though she felt sad about letting her pottery go to strangers.

Thank you from my heart, my friend! And I adore your pottery image whose design looks more Hopi than Acoma which is awesome since Hopiland is where this Pueblo is located. Very much appreciate your research to find the perfect ceramic art for my poem.

Indeed it is very beautiful. I used to own several pieces of Acoma pottery but sold them due to tight finances.
