the past few years i have been entering poems for the annual hort convention, the first two, i didnt' get anything, but this year in two of the categories i got honourable mention and then in another one i got 2nd place
so this is the one that got second place
the theme was come to the deep south, where everything grows
come to the deep south where everything grows
row upon row of pretty flowers as the spring showers flow and they blow to and fro
look at the daffodils and the tulips all coming up now are there crocuses too for i lust love the tiny little flowers
come to the deep south where everything grows
look at the mouths of what you can see is there a face on that one? the one that i believe some people nickname a monkey flower
come to the deep south where everything grows look around what can you see. scattered around blue bells and butter cups and dandelions just to name a few.
flowers that you cannot see at other places in the province
come to the deep south where everything grows
it's warmer longer and the plants grow stronger
come to the deep south where everything grows row upon row

thank you rick
yes i'm pretty pleased
muriel the woman i went with and she's the president of our hort, says that i'm to read it out at the next regular meeting......she's the one that got me to be on the board.....and i've been there 14 years....
she's been president 3 times, no one else wants to be, so they keep on rotating....lol.....i'm the secretary and i'm fine with that..
that's not until september though....
and sally the one that got me to be their ways and means person, is now gone, but i've been working for that society ever since i joined lol....19 years ago, i joined to go on their bus trip
i had known sally from other stuff around the town hall, and stuff like that, so

Congratulations, Susan. How true your poem is. Just about everything will grow and flourish in the south.
