Me too, I've searched Sky Atlantic, Netflix, Now tv and can't find anything that comes anywhere near it. So that's the end of my tv watching until they start the prequel in a year or two. There are so many ways this could end even now and there are so many "leaks" out there that I really don't know what is going to happen next week. I will say though that I feel series 8 has been rushed and they could have given us 10 episodes and fleshed things out a little more. I felt that Cersei's end and the Night King's end was truly disappointing so I am not expecting anything too clever next week. I still don't see how anyone can kill Dany without her huge army cutting them to pieces. Half of me is wondering if Dany will go up north and have a confrontation with Sansa - in which case her army would never get there in time if she got attacked. One thing is for sure, she is not leaving it better than she found it as she promised - she is leaving it in a far worse state than she found it - unless the writers come up with some sort of miracle.

I am in agreement Vicky, I think this season was rushed. My fear is that we will get a lame ending. Here it is, end of 8 seasons and all we will get is a dumb ending, because of being rushed. We all waited so long for this season. Hope they go out with a bang and not a fizzle. Like the series Lost so many yrs ago. Dumb ending there. We will see.....

I never watched Lost so I can't speak for that. Like you I hope we don't get a dumbed down ending to GoT. It's the first time ever that I have watched something 8 series long. Back in the beginning when it was all bums and boobs I nearly gave up on it particularly as one of the swear words continuously in use is one that I loathe most of all but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. The only series I watched before this was "Rome" but they only made a couple of series of that. I think Sansa is going to be the next on Dany's hit list - or Tyrion. However I do think someone will leap in to save Sansa - either Jon or Arya but we will have to wait until Sunday/Monday to find out. I do really hope they don't kill Jon off. Some of the fans seem to think he will take the black again - but how? The Knights Watch doesn't exist any longer as there is no need for them. (Unless a need is created in the last episode).

My favorite characters in GOT are Ned Stark (Sean Bean) Tyrion Lannister Jorah Mormont Robb Stark (Richard Madden)
Daenerys Targaryen (Although she has become mean) I was rooting for her when she was with Aquaman. (Jason Momoa)
I wish Jaime Lannister would have stayed with Brienne. I wanted her to have a happy ending.
But Jaime was brave in trying to calm and comfort Cersei when they both knew it was the end.
And I was moved by the scene where Tyrion tells Jaime he never would have survived his childhood if it wasn't for Jaime.

Only a few hours here until GOT. I too was moved when Tyrion freed Jamie. Touching scene. Will be interested in what happens tonight.

I am not going to say too much in case some have not seen it yet but I will say that I don't quite see how they could have ended it very differently. I know that over here there is a petition being raised to make them re-film Series 8 again - AS IF - which I think is stupid. I don't mind the same things happening at all but perhaps not quite so rushed. I think they could dream up another series just on the travels of Arya. LOL I will talk more once I know everyone who looks in here has seen it.
Meanwhile some pics of the four main Houses in Westeros.

The other two Houses are:
It seems the Iron Islands and the Dornish people don't count.

I liked some parts about the ending and didn't care for a few things.
I was glad one of the characters who had become ruthless had an unpleasant future.
I was not really happy with the leader who ended up being in charge. But it's someone else's story to tell and doesn't always end up with the ending the viewer/reader wants.
I do appreciate the very difficult decision one of the characters made. Heartbreaking but necessary. One has to look deep in the soul sometimes. So easy to go along even though the conscience is telling you, this is wrong. Make a choice to do something.
Even if people are disappointed with the ending, I still think it is one of the best stories told on television.

There is quite a buzz on the internet. A lot of folks don’t like this season and I too saw a petition going on to rewrite things. Stupid. People must think it’s easy to write a successful show. I would think it would be hard to do. i liked the last episode. Very appropriate for the characters. I love the scene with Arya on her ship, sailing away. I could see a spin off on her adventures. I didn’t like the change in Greyworm but who can blame him with what happened to his love . I loved all 8 seasons. best scene was when Dany was standing there and her dragon opened its wings! It looked like she had the wings! Lol good ending.
Vicky, I too watched the short series Rome. It was good! But it was expensive to make so they cut it short. But it was well done too.

We obviously like the same sort of programmes Shy. I am at a real loss to find anything to watch now so if you come across anything do let me know. I am not really in to cops and robbers shows - although I did enjoy Boston Legal when it was on. Like you I thought on the whole it was probably the best ending they could come up with - except for the fact I would have carried out Varys's ideas and gone for poison - that way it might have enabled Jon to get away with it. I would love to see Arya's travels but I doubt we ever will. All in all the Starks did quite well after such a poor start to their stories, the Lannisters and Targaryens lost but there is still a Baratheon about. LOL I give it top marks for being the best series on tv ever because as you say Rome only had two series. Meanwhile back on Meeran....... LOL

Well, its over and I'm sad. And I think this petition idea is stupid. They're not going to film a whole season over again because a bunch of people complain. I didn't like the way it ended but that is the end. Shy I love that scene where it looked like Dany had wings! That was awesome. And I felt so bad for the dragon. He was heartbroken over Dany.

Yes, so did I, he'd lost his brothers and now his "mother". He couldn't kill Jon because of him being a Targaryen but he burnt the one thing that he knew had caused it all - the iron throne. Overall although I don't agree with murder I felt most sorry for Jon, he lost out heavily but it was nice to see him reunited with Ghost.

Vicky, I forgot about the importance of burning the throne! That was a great scene. I agree too, that’s what started the whole thing. Love the pic of the guy still waiting in Maureen, wondering about the war. Lol
If you get Startz, try Outlander. It’s fictional but based on a Scott family named Frazier. It’s sets before and now going close to the Revolutionary war. It’s pretty good. Books are good too. It’s going on it’s 5th season. I also enjoy the Tudors series that was based on his 6 wives. Some of the stars in GOT is in this one too. I love History and especially around the War of the Roses and Tudor era. That’s a good one. I don’t watch cops and robber shows either. They all are the same. Downton Abbey was wonderful too. Set around WW I . Life between servants and high born. Lol I see they are coming out with a movie. Can’t wait. I started watching a series called Jamestown, on BBC. So far it’s good. I will miss GOT and this was probably my fave by far.

The making of the last series was so interesting. I hate to think how much it cost. It was worth every penny though. There are one or two things I didn't understand in the various series though. First to mind is the re-appearance of Uncle Benjen in series 6 and 7 - where had he been all this time? I really couldn't work that one out. If any of you can tell me I would be grateful.

I was wondering too about Uncle Beni. Unless he was just about, keeping an eye on the army of the dead. He did save Jon snow. I have been reading conflicting reports about spin offs. I enjoyed the series and have all but season 8. Will buy that so I can watch it again and again. Funny how sometimes you watch episodes again and pick things up you missed the first time you watched it. I’m looking forward to my other series I like, Outlander on Starz. It’s really good too. They are filming season 5 I think. I guess the watch is over.😞

I will give Outlander another try, for some reason I couldn't get into it and I suspect the reason was that it kept chopping back and forth into different eras. My sister likes it so it can't be bad as she and I usually agree on programs. I will also be buying Series 8 dvd of GoT as I will then have the whole set. I did the same with the Harry Potter films too although GoT knocks spots off Harry Potter. I also have the complete set of the Merlin series - I just love fantasy but prefer it to stay in the one era rather than moving back to the modern era periodically.
In the meantime I will look forward to the prequel of GoT. I want to know more about the Children of the Forest too.
Did you have a favourite episode of GoT or a favourite series? I like the battle scenes such as the Battle of the B*stards and the attack by Dany and her dragon against the Lannister army on their way back to Kings Landing. I must be a very bloodthirsty person. I think I liked Series 6 of those series towards the end.

I’m not sure if I could pick out a fave episode. I guess one of my faves was when Littlefinger got his just desserts. I was not expecting his ending. I enjoyed Joffery’s Death at his wedding too. But overall I loved all the episodes. This has to be one of the best series ever made. I love the Lord if the Rings and a Hobbit series too.
Outlander is a period series. I love history and it takes place in the 1770’s both in America and in Scotland. It can be soap opera like at times but I just love it. Lol too bad Rome ended too soon. I liked that one too. I never saw Merlin, heard it was good. Might have to check that out.

I loved some of Outlander, Shy.
I loved when they were in Scotland. Less when they were in America.
And of course they traveled to other places as well.
I watched it on Demand, so would fast forward or go past episodes that I wasn't as interested in.

I might do the same Kerri. Whatever I watch I doubt it will ever measure up to GoT. That was just superb.
Edited to add:
I loved Robb Stark, Richard Madden, far more manly than John Snow who always came across to me anyway as a bit of a puny and weak character.
I liked all the characters but the ones you love to hate are usually the best. Joffrey for example, what an evil little sod he was yet the guy who played him is one of the nicest people - now that's acting. Cersei the same, Littlefinger too. My favourite though was Tyrion - oh I loved him and I'm so thankful he wasn't killed off. I liked Dany but the amount of hate Cersei generated took some really good acting. I also liked Liam Cunningham, the Onion Knight - I have seen him in so many films and he always plays a brilliant part.
Regarding Series 8, I don't wish them to re-film it but I do think that over 2 years they could have explained a bit more and perhaps put another two episodes in but that is not really a complaint, more of a wish.
