The Last Words Spoken By Famous People ~The grisly thought about a deathbed might be quite unnerving for anyone, but not for these famous people. Knowing the last words that someone spoke can sometimes throw light on their character or on the circumstances in which they died. You can't help but feel that some of the last quotes by famous people on this list encapsulate their personas. From the ever level-headed Winston Churchill, who declared in his final moments that he's 'so bored with it all' to the last wish from John Belushi to not be left alone. These famous last words can sometimes be ironically funny, and other times - eloquent and truly deep. #1 Todd Beamer Was A Passenger On United Flight 93, September 11, 2001. These Are His Last Recorded Words At The End Of A Cell Phone Call Before Beamer And Others Attempted To Storm The Airliner's Cockpit To Retake It From Hijackers. The Plane Crashed Near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

He wanted to only live 50 years so killed himself at 67 ... too bad as writers can keep writing.

Soooo true, Rick and 67 is still young with a lot of useful years ahead, especially if you are a writer. The older you get, the more experiences one has to write about.

I am guessing heavy steroid use caused his heart attack at a young age.

Thanks, Cat.
I suspect you are 100% right, Rick, and what a shame. He was too young to die.

Gary Coleman's parents really screwed him financially as well and I watched that with the Ultimate Warrior that evening before, was wild

Yes, Michael, those wrestlers all put on a great show for their fans. I used to like wrestling as a sport, before it turned into a circus.

Lawrence "Titus" Oates was part of the ill-fated Captain Scott Antarctic expedition of 1912. Scott chose to use ponies and mechanical trollies to haul their supplies but the mechanical items all broke down and the weather turned and the ponies started to die off. Because they had to leave supplies behind being too much for them to carry they ended up eating the ponies. Anyway to cut a long story short they reached the South Pole only to find that Amundsen had beaten them to it (he used dogs). They turned back hoping to get to where they had buried some supplies. However the weather was foul and Captain Oates was very badly frost bitten and he knew he was holding them up. So he invented the story that he needed to go outside (which they only did for toilet purposes) and told them not to worry as he may be some time. He walked out into the night hoping that by his sacrifice the rest of the team might stand a chance of making it - sad to say they didn't and when they were found over a year later they were just 11 miles from those supplies. They never found the body of Captain Oates. A very brave man.

I've never forgotten that day, I don't think anyone has. It was afternoon our time when it all kicked off, shortly before 2 p.m. and we watched the whole thing. The worst for me was watching people jump to their deaths to avoid being burnt and then seeing the towers collapse. Dreadful.
