don't know what i'm doing

I did this as an attachment...is that what I want to be doing when i post things like this..attachments?

That is exactly what it should look like when you post images as attachments.  They only post as thumbnails.  You can click on it to view it full size.   Eventually, I will have to delete them when they have used up all the sites allotted space.   Attachments are temporary.  That is why it is best to post them from a photo hosting site.  Then you are in control.
