Where the darkness meets the light where the terminator gleams, Caught between the glinting glow of moon 'n' shiny ball of fire, Exists a space where for hanging moments that seem to hold still, Neither today nor tomorrow has hold of the spirit's metronome,
In this place dreams of the imaginative flights of fancy are well born, Colour laden landscapes setting backdrops for creatures of legend, Paled ghosts gain new vitality returning from the borders of nothingness, Shaping their forms into all manner of tale land beings or beasts,
It matters not in the least what shapely forms they eventually assume, Each shall find its place in the lands where dreams come to full life, Robust and strong under the skillful descriptive marks of scribes quill, Adding to the flavour of creative constructions of great purpose,
Horizons will shift with a gentle breath as motion once more engages, Dipping the timeless place back into the ever moving river of flow, Stars will yield to sun that in turn yields to moon glow and stars, Seen by the fantasy creatures that writers have brought to life.

Brian, I often do my best writing in those "betwixt" hours. Not only an excellent poem, but an excellent point. I couldn't agree more.

Dan I used to write in those small hours too but I think the years are catching up to me now. I sometimes get so involved in a story I'm writing, I dream out the sequences and can write them the following day.

Brian what a wonderful homage to those who write fairy tales and myths. You are a master of this kind of writing. Your poetry is ever imaginative and always magical. Love the recurring theme of light and dark in your writing which first glimpsed in your story, "Moon Beams."
