I am 5' 2 1/2" Rick, so I always say I am 5' 3". So you really are a foot taller than I am. It must be nice to stand in a crowd and see across a room full of people. That is something I can't do.  |

My son is 6'4", so he is exactly one foot taller than me. I am 5'4". This is my son. This picture was just taken a few months ago in July. He is 31 years old |

Yes it is nice, Foxy although ... I am never in a room full of people! The ghosts are easy to see through lol.

Cat, your son started his life a very young and handsome guy. He just kept all his beauty as he grew up and older.
Your daughter is very pretty, too. Except for her red hair, she looks a lot like you. Good looking kids you got there.

Actually, my daughter's hair is wheat-blond and she has green eyes. She just put in some light blonde highlights before that picture was taken. That may be what leads you to think that her darker blond hair is red. She has never been a red-head.
Like my son who is a cookie-jar between hubby and me, my daughter is a cookie-jar between me and her father (my ex). Cookie-jar meaning bits and me and bits of the father. Hubby adopted both girls when we got married as the ex gave up all rights - the one good thing he did, and he kept out of our lives right up until the day he died.

i agree your ex did a great service by staying out of your life and your present hubby did a good thing by adopting your girls and being a good dad to them.

You were one lucky young Mom. I wish all single young, mothers and their babies could be so lucky. So many of them have such life long struggles.

I did have 7 years of being a working single Mom. I was their sole support as the ex didn't pay the court-ordered child support. That was one of the reasons the ex gave up all his rights. Also, I never asked for, and he never paid alimony. So it was not that easy, but I was proud in that I lived by the code that my children were my responsibility, not everyone else's.
But yes, I was lucky that I eventually met hubby. When I finally ran from the ex, one of the girls was 2 years old and the other was 6 months old. When hubby and I married, they were 9 yr and 7 yrs.
