I love fairy tales and fantasy because of their haunting beauty and magical strangeness. They are set in worlds where anything can happen. Frogs can be kings, a thicket of brambles can hide a castle where a royal court has lain asleep for a hundred years, a boy can outwit a giant, and a girl can break a curse with nothing but her courage and steadfastness. ~Kate Forsyth Yes!! I do love fantasy.

Thanks Rick. Some of my old ones sometimes get buried and when there is re-organization, they re-surface.

Oh Yes! Yes! Yes! I still love even my oldest of sigs, Rick. Have lots that remind me of how much I was in awe of those who could make them in my early days on the net. It was pure magic to me. It was magic I had to learn.

And I am so grateful that I learned and for the people who helped me to get started. A couple of people from afar helped me in small, but important ways, to learn some basics. It has brought me many hours of highly rewarding pleasure.

That is fantastic, Foxy ... like me going on line in September 1998 and that leading immediately into writing poetry

That is beautiful magic, Rick, and everyone has to find their own special kind of magic and it is there for them through story telling, poetry, visual art, stitchery and many other ways such as gardening.

I went on a quest back into yesterland to look fot this bit of fantasy that I have long loved.Come Along With Me Come along with me To a Fantasy land Of whispering willows And goblin bands. Knights abound With mighty swords Streets filled with wenches, Ladies and Lords. Winged creatures, Unicorns and Dragons abound Soft whispered melodies Of fairy sounds. From the goblet, drink of the wine Grapes sweetened and picked from the vine Of sweet music and awesome dance. Come join us in this world of chance. Come along with me Illusions so grande Come along with me To Our Fantasy Land. ~unknown~Where the treasure at the end of our Rainbow
is forever guarded by the Golden Dragon, Illian

This one too, is very special.
The Perfect Knight
He cleans his boots and belt and wonders how he got here
He never even loved horses, although he had no fear
The music of the quadrillia rings in his head
The spotlight bright upon his face - He'd rather be in bed
He dons the knight's attire and suddenly he's a sensation
The crowd lets loose with shouts and cheers - There is no cessation
He'll kiss a flower and toss it to a lady anxiously waiting
He has a lovely wife at home - He has no thought of dating
The tournament continues and he wins at every game
He thinks "A grown man playing knight - This really is insane"
He wins the joust and draws his sword, victorious in his duty
Again he earns the privilege of choosing the Queen of Love and Beauty
A little girl whose hand he takes is led up to the King
He knows not the intensity of all the happiness he brings
He faces one more battle to defeat the great Black Knight
Another notch upon his belt on yet another night
Then autographs and photos for the fans who dearly love him
But nowhere in his mind does he put himself above them
He just works hard at what he does, and tries to do what's right
For after all, it is his job to be the perfect knight © Unknown

Two Snowflakes Orinially Posted By RollanThunder Two snowflakes met within a cloud In mists of winter's space He, a flake of icy white And she, a star of lace The cloud was heavy, winds were strong In dark mid-winter night Then both held hands and tried to Stay together in the flight Then tumbling down they lost their grip He kept in sight her face He said, I'll find you on the ground, My crystal star of lace In dawning hour the sun arose The flake looked near and far Rising with each whispering wisp To find his crystal star And there she was, lit by the sun So delicate and clear Among the millions, only one He wanted to be near Then children came outside to play To build a man of snow She said this is the end for us For I have got to go They wrapped her in a ball of snow Which then became a face She sparkled in the morning light This crystal star of lace He too was packed into the cheek And both remained for days She said what will become of us In sun's now warming rays He said the sun will melt us both And to the ground we'll fall But I will not forget your face, The brightest star of all I'll follow you to nearby streams And into rivers flow I'll follow you into the sea Wherever you may go One day we'll rise together in the haze of summer heat And somewhere in a cloud of white The two of us will meet The winds will send us onward To the place of winter storm You'll form into a crystal star With frozen heart so warm Above the January earth In gatherings of mist I'll find you there, my star of lace Just waiting to be kissed. © Elizabeth Santos
