Click Here and type your zip code into the yellow box to see the date and time your area will experience the eclipse. There is some very interesting reading here.

Yes, I saw that FaceBook, but we hear in Canada will not get the full eclipse as a lot of you in the USA will.

Many of us will not get the full eclipse, but a very high percentage will be experienced by much of the country. There is a great animated map on that site showing affected areas.

It says my area will only get a partial. I hope our weather will let us see it. Too many times it's been cloudy.

I hope to see it, too, Joanie. The eclipse will peak here at 1:18:32 pm CDT, when the moon obscures 88.4% of the sun. That's a pretty high percentage. It will certainly be noticable.
Begins: 11:48 am Peaks: 1:19 pm Ends: 2:47 pm

It said we will get a partial eclipse in my area. I hope the sky will be clear to see it.

When I checked last night, it said our part of Ontario will be experiencing 76% of the eclipse.

That's enough to make an interesting showing, Cat.
Hope your weather allows you to see it, Bill. Hope we all get to see it.

I hope you all are able to see most of it ...for where I live: you will see a total solar eclipse.
The eclipse will peak at 2:05:37 pm EDT, when the moon obscures 100% of the sun.

My local supermarket is raking in the money selling Total Eclipse merchandise from t-shirts to special viewing (paper) dark glasses

There is always going to someone who is going to capitalize on every oportunity. Some enterpreneurs had to do some planning ahead to be ready for this. Cool for you, Rick, that you are getting the total eclipse. Bet you've got your viewing glasses all ready for the big event. I heard on the news about an online vendor who sold safety glasses for the occasion and after he got the orders in, he notified the buyers that it would cost a $25 fee to expedite shipping in time for veiwing the eclipse. Most people were canceling and buying from Amazon with 2 day delivery time. Good old Amazon to the rescue. I hope that online vendor has to eat all those glasses for trying to rob people.

Cool Rick!
LOL Foxy, I am sure he is going to have to eat the cost of all those glasses. Hopefully it will teach him a lesson not to try and rip off people.
Hope we all get to see at least a portion of it. Hubby and I have yet to get proper viewing glasses.

THanks, Cat! Wow Foxy, that greedy guy deserves to lose money! At Dillons the glasses are only $1.95

At Amazon, you can order ten pairs for less than ten dollars, aimed at those who are having viewing parties. I have seen them in the $350 range. I feel like those are more for the serious student and not for the curious watcher. But guys....some people are just greedy and more than ready to rip off their customers. In example, Photobucket. May they all go down in shame.

They will always be among us, Rick. I think most of them become politicians. That way their greed becomes legal and they are among their own kind. LOL!!
