Towers and temples, oil lamps and streetlights. I can't see the sky
from the littered streets and the crowded horizon. Signs and billboards,
neon lights and cacophony of sounds. I wanted to do something
so I planted daffodils. Life will continue…
with or without us. - Dip

This poem touches home with me. 3 years ago I moved from the city to a rural area. Best move I ever made

Your daffodils will improve the looks of their area of this city, Dip ... life does continue one way or another.
I would love to live far from city lights and noise!

Cat, Thank you for your reply. You did the right thing by moving away from the city. Namste. - Dip
Rick, I don't know whether someone would water those Daffodil plants. I will find out next time I am in Kathmandu. Thank you Rick for your encouragement. It means a lot to me. Namaste. - Dip

Dip, too true. Both the issues with light pollution and the global disconnect from nature. Well-written.

Daffodils. How I love them, Dip. Thank you for planting them. Daffodils are strong, with a big healthy desire live and reproduce. Here in my country, they seem able to make it on their own without the helping hand of man. They flourish here on old abandoned house places where farmers lived so many years ago. They grow into great clumps and bloom profusely in pastures and homestead lands, where they bring much pleasure to passersby in early spring. They are tended only by the hands of the Great Creator..

Warrior Queen, Thank you for the lovely picture of the Daffodils. In the city of Kathmandu, almost every inch is now cemented. I found a patch near a temple and planted the Daffodils. As you have rightly said that Daffodils are strong, and I hope the bloom to bring some joy to people there. Namaste. - Dip

Oh Dip. I can almost promise they will bring joy to all who spot that sudden burst of cheerful color. The sight of the first colorful daffodils of spring just set my soul on fire. I love them. Many of mine were from the ones that grow wild in the fields and pastures. It is good for them to occasionally be thinned out. It is sad that so much of Kathmandu is cemented over. All the more reason your daffodils will be treasured.

Yeah, it all gets ugly after a while with all the buildings, etc blocking out nature's beauty

Brings to mind a poem by Longfellow I think called "Daffodils." You really take me into space you so wonderfully paint with words. It seems rural areas are more and more encroached by urban sprawl.
