Imagine plodding through treacherous snow, passing by the frozen dead body of a mountaineer then looking up at that peak,
majestically and tantalizingly standing still suddenly I stand on that glorious peak,
all alone... I throw up my hands
look up to the blue sky and shout...
"I am not Icarus"

Your poetry grabs my attention and resonates with my passion for freedom. This is no exception.

It would be unnerving to see a dead, frozen mountaineer, Dip ... I love your perspective, somewhere Icarus is smiling.

It would be unnerving to see a dead, frozen mountaineer, Dip ... I love your perspective, somewhere Icarus is smiling. Sad to say, over the years I have seen quite a few dead frozen mountaineers. Someone asked a mountaineer - why do they risk climbing the peaks? The answer was - Just because it is there. I am not Icarus came to my mind as I crossed the fallen mountaineer - He was The Icarus. Thank you for your kind words. Namaste.

It must be upsetting for you to have seen so many frozen dead bodies. I don't think I could handle that. No mountain, no matter how glorious at the top, is worth the lives it devours. However, if I took a helicopter up to the top, that would be fantastic, as long as I don't see any bodies.
