It has been twenty years since my true love passed through the crack of forever. She told me she would wait for me among the fruit trees. But she made me promise not to take my own life.
Therefore, I need a way to heaven which keeps my body safe and sound. I pray to the Goddess to ride me on horseback across the sea and into the arms of my beloved where I long to be.
Niamh, woman of the Otherworld, rides me on a magical horse that gallops over water on the golden path made by the sun on the ocean. She brings me to the isle of apple trees where people like fruit on a high branch are unreachable to the grim-picker.
In the blink of an eye, my Goddess reincarnates my honey girl and me into unborn changelings who find their homes in the wombs of mothers. The Moms jig together in the waves of their coastal town because their supposedly barren wombs bore fruit. Once again my apple is reachable to the plucker of souls

Very imaginative, John! It would be nice to stay in the high branches but being reborn is cool too *five Goddess stars*

Rick, I love your understanding of my piece. Indeed the basis of this was taken from Celtic myth in which the Isle of the Apples was heaven hence people there were immortal. But the Goddess of heaven sends me back to earth to reincarnate into a child. Glad you enjoyed my friend. John

I never heard of that myth before. I thought it was a dream that inspired this. Enjoyed the read

Thanks for your appreciation Cat my friend. The reincarnation part was my invention. The isle of the apple trees comes from preChristan Irish myth. Glad you enjoyed. John

It's a beautiful piece John and as I've said before I can't and refuse to believe this plane of existence is all there is to life. How i believe anyway. I feel it would be cruel if this is all there is/was and that once one we know passes then that's it, we'll never be among them again. Who knows what all there is, no one can but maybe i'm foolish, i just can't believe this is it and those we love who pass are gone forever, etc. I just can't buy that. I feel you will be together again and in a lot of ways you still are together spiritually.. I don't know what I'm trying to say but I think you get it. Enjoyed

Much gratitude Michael. Yes, my wife visits me in my dream lately every night. It has become a nightly reunion. And indeed I feel she is still there as a conscious and emotional person still filled with empathy for her loved ones. There must be something more to life than a final ending. It goes on. I believe that my friend.

I certainly will try my friend. Your advice is wise. And I do indeed reminisce on those times with great happiness.

I too, believe there is more to life than what we have in the here and now. My heart believes the best is yet to come. Very beautiful, John, and hopeful.

Foxy we dreamers have a bond of faith in what lies beyond. I like to think there will be elements of the best of the earth where we go. No disease, war, or suffering. But rather beauty, love, and hope. Thank you for giving me hope through your words, my friend.
